About the event
Travel through time with coins as your guide.
The Numismatic Museum in Nagpur is a unique space dedicated to coins, currency, and the history of money in India. This walk offers a rare chance to explore the country’s economic past — from ancient punch-marked coins to modern commemorative mints.
View some of the earliest coins ever made in India, beautifully crafted Mughal pieces, British-era currency, and notes from post-Independence India. A highlight of the walk is the collection of rare coins issued by the Gonds and Nagpurkar Bhonsles, offering a window into Nagpur’s royal past and its unique place in India’s monetary history.
Each coin carries a story — of rulers, revolutions, economies, and everyday lives. This heritage walk invites you to explore history not through monuments, but through the small, powerful objects that shaped civilizations.
