About the event
One of the most powerful and visually striking moments of the Marbat Utsav is the Milan — the meeting of the Kali and Pili Marbat effigies from different parts of the city. This walk takes you right into the heart of this energetic convergence, where processions from central, northern, and eastern Nagpur come face to face in a charged atmosphere of sound, satire, and solidarity.
Amid pounding dhols, slogans, DJ beats, and cheering crowds, these towering effigies — each carrying a voice of the people — meet in a moment that is both symbolic and emotional. The Milan is not just a spectacle; it is a gathering of neighbourhood identities, shared frustrations, and unspoken critiques — all expressed through the language of folk art.
