About the event
The Nine-yard long saree or Kashta as it is called is a traditional Maharashtrian attire. It’s a significant attire where women across different walks of life have worn it, may it be at a cultural or a religious event. Women have fought wars in the past wearing it; and till date it’s a part of their daily attire in the rural areas.
Nagpur has had a history of weavers residing here in the area of Mominpura ! On this tour we would not only see the art of making this nine-yard-long saree but would also know the place its brief history and the weaving culture of our city and see the Badi Jama Masjid in Mominpura.
